Alyssa ~ I’m not afraid of that Noise
Feb 19th, 2012 by Autumn Sunshine
Hi, My name is Alyssa and I am five years old. I’m grown up now, so those noises don’t scare me not that thunder and not the wind in that big old pine tree either. My swingset and club house sure must be getting washed by all that rain. I hope the sunshine comes back tomorrow.
Mommy says I am so brave and I have my kitty to cuddle with. Her name is Cassie and she is a calico kitten. That means she has three colours. She is black, and orange and white. She is soft and lots of fun to hug. Cassie has her own bed and her own toys, but she likes to stay with me the most. I’m her favourite.
Daddy says I have my pretty night light, it’s a star. It looks like a real star, too. Mommy and Daddy just hugged and kissed me goodnight. They say, “We love you princess”. They call me that, and say I am their very own little princess girl. I guess I must be 🙂 Everyone that meets me says, “oh what a cutie” and I just smile and say “thank you.” My one Aunt told me to say “I know”, when they say that, but I don’t think it would be something my Mommy and Daddy would think is very polite.
I know I can call for them, or I can run really fast to their room, but I won’t, I am being brave. I know I can do it this time, all by myself. Mommy and Daddy are right nearby, after all. Plus I do have that thing called an intercom, I just push the button for Mommy or Daddy. I sure wish Cassie would do more than purr to me, she sounds so much like a little motor.
She just blinked her eyes at me, in kitty talk that means she loves me, so I blink back at her, I love her! Cassie knows I love her we blink all the time, so we both know.
Ooops, that loud noise again, it’s called thunder. It’s so much of a boom, I don’t like it at all. Daddy says it’s the angels bowling, in heaven. I think Daddy is very silly sometimes. Mommy and me just giggle and look at each other and Daddy knows what we are thinking. We love him heaps, but he sure can say some funny things. He also says that the moon is the deer and the bears night light. Now that at least is funny 🙂 Daddy can’t help it, he tries to make us laugh.
Yikes, that noise again!! Daddy says that word and that does make me giggle. It’s a fun sounding word, so yikes, that is loud. I think being brave is not as easy as I thought it would be. I don’t like this. Maybe I will wait just a minute, then if it’s still rumbling and grumbling, I will call for Mommy and Daddy. I might hide under my covers instead.
I hear talking outside my door. Hmmmm, it’s them, gosh. My parents think I am a baby! There they are, right outside my door like I need looking after every minute. I hear Mommy call Daddy “darling” yuck!!! They are so mushy sometimes. So they are waiting for me to yell. Well, I will just show them, I’m not gonna yell.
Cassie and I both blink at each other, she heard Daddy voice the loudest. They are still out there, I am just not happy with this at all. I will tell them I’m a big girl, or wait, I’ll just stay quiet. That will be the best idea, I will just tell them when morning gets here. They sure are goofy sometimes.
The rain slowed down, it almost stopped and I don’t hear anymore thunder. I knew I could do it and be brave. I am a brave princess, after all. I am getting so sleepy now…hmmmm, there they are the parents again. They are being so quiet and sneaking in to check on me. I am just pretending I am asleep so, so super silly. They are checking on me, I hope I don’t laugh. I hear Mommy telling me she loves me again, and so does Daddy 🙂 Cassie starts purring louder, like she is laughing in kitty talk. I bet she is, they are never going to leave. I will start to giggle any minute. Oh good, there they go, holding hands…..night Mommy and Daddy, see you in the morning! I am sooooooo grown up, you will know that sometime. Gosh I have funny, lovey, parents, don’t I? I’m five years old…Goodnight!!
