Everyone Should Watch this
It’s a must watch and also many who already aware of these kinds of things will be touched. Such an eye opener for many who don’t know or are not even aware of how many, many animals get treated. This is an insightful documentary. So much has yet to be done to give the animals a chance. A chance to live and a chance to grow up … Thank You to Care 2 for posting this!
The Animal World, the Reality
When we heard about Katie Cleary’s upcoming documentary Give Me Shelter, we knew we had to share with the Care2 community! The film, which will be finished in May, covers a wide range of topics, from abandoned animals in shelters and puppy mills to orangutans dying in Indonesia due to deforestation.
The documentary also highlights the amazing work of people who dedicate their lives to liberating animals and creating a more compassionate world for us all.
Supermodel Katie Cleary previously worked with Care2 on a campaign to get the Kardashians to stop using fur in their clothing line

I know all this and still it always breaks my heart. I don’t know why “all” people don’t know yet that when they bring a dog to a shelter that the chances of it living are slim to none. They should never, never, ever bring any pet there.
And as far as pet stores, I know the dogs are from puppy mills, but I don’t think many people know that yet, which is why this post is getting tweeted and it won’t be the last time I tweet it either.

That is exactly true, taking a pet to a regular shelter is like knowing it will no doubt not make it into a forever home. We have a couple “no kill” shelters

Oh no, we must never give up. These poor helpless, defenseless animals lives depend on people like us to make a a difference.
The first place someone should looks for a new pet is to consider going to the pound. Not only can they give one a home, but save it’s life too, since each day they are there is closer to their death sentence.
