Thinking
Yes, I’m thinking about this quote. It’s so true. I’m not happy with the winter, I don’t like the coldness. So, while trying not to get into a slump … this make me smile a bit.
We are always going to have something going on, whether it be good or “bad”, that is just life. I must admit, the “bad stuff” seems to happen more often! OK, it probably doesn’t, but wouldn’t it be nice to have everything go smoothly? Yeah!!!

Remember When?
Do you remember how it was when you were just a kid? Like 10 years old or so, life was soooooo different! As kids, we loved the snow, the more the better. That meant a day off from school Building a snowman, or a snow fort, Wow, that was real fun!
We didn’t have to worry about driving on snowy or icy roads. No worries about shoveling out the snow, unless if was just for having a good time. We didn’t HAVE to do it.
Also, when we were kids, we had no big worries about money or things that the “grown ups” handled. Well it was that way for me, growing up. Maybe I lived a sheltered childhood? Anyway, my parents took care of the “bad” stuff. Remember being a kid?
Being Grown Up
Now we find ourselves all grown up 
or we like to think we are. We have those things to deal with. Getting the driveway plowed, getting the sidewalks cleaned off.
We have the worries of financial matters. It’s just life, when you least expect a problem, one comes along. I think it seems to happen in groups of 3 !!! First trouble with the car, then OMG the washer is sounding ready to explode. Or it could be a small thing like maybe you broke a favorite glass object. Big or little things, they happen. We know this, and we just deal with it.
Well, mostly we do OK. As for me, I struggle sometimes in the winter more than anytime to stay upbeat. The darkness, lack of sun, etc. that is just depressing. It’s part of reality. I don’t usually share this kind of thing but I do get “sadder” in the winter time. I don’t know that it’s the actual S.A.D.S it just happens sometimes.
Balance
So mostly we have to try for a balance, don’t we? Deal with winter time, BUT look forward to the spring time Same for all the other things in life that happen. I try to remember, “nothing lasts forever, not the good stuff and not the bad stuff” we should hold on to that thought.
That’s so easy to say, but not so easy to do, is it?
Being a kid was so very easy! Being a kid was the best. It’s good to take a trip down memory lane and remember I hope you do!

I guess winter is why I appreciate the spring and summer so much…thanks for the reminder.
And your right, it’s the same with all the other good things that come our way. We appreciate them when we’ve experienced less appealing times in our life. Maybe this is why I appreciate you so much, because I’ve run into so many, not so nice people over the years….but not you…Your a gem with a heart of gold!…Hey, I just love ya, it all!

I don’t really care much for the snow anymore either. Sure, it’s pretty when it falls for the first time in the winter, but once a day has gone by, I’ve had enough of it. But it really does help us appreciate the summer more. It’s also reminds us of the dark stages of our life, so we can appreciate the brighter stages.
