John Steinbeck is a writer whose work does make me think. This really did ~
“I wonder how many people I’ve looked at all my life and never seen.”
This is from The Winter of Our Discontent which was John Steinbeck’s last novel. Reading this quote and wondering …
Now I’m really wondering
I do wonder how many people I’ve really looked at yet never seen, really seen who they were. Some people don’t show their feeling and it’s hard to tell. I am now thinking if I’ve not seen some for their true selves …
On the other hand, I am also thinking that I bet there are many people who have looked at me and yet never known me. I sometimes am a mystery, even to myself. I do also know that people sometimes look at me and “judge” me. I have tattoos, they are very ladylike, yet it’s a know fact that some do think tattoos are evil. I wear leather because I love it, I love the smell 🙂 and I love how it looks. So even though I have “tamed it down” a bit, I used to be a bit more, hmmmmm … what would the word be? Maybe a bit more “unusual” . I still am the same person inside, but people tend to just “LOOK” and judge and there it goes.
I am so open minded and flexible with the way I look at people, yet I am left wondering.
The World and it’s People
All over the world there are other people, looking around and they are maybe not “seeing” someone for who they really are. I wonder if life will always be this way? I wonder if we will always have so much that is left unsaid, or even not thought of. Why is it like this?
I guess we have lots to learn lots of think about. The world and it’s people change and the way we look at things should change. We need to be more open minded, more accepting maybe. Don’t judge by the “outside” is what it really all is about.
Does anyone have any thought? I always wonder if someone out there reading is thinking the same as me 🙂 Did you have any thoughts like me?
In the end, what matters the most is that we do not only LOOK at someone, but try and get to understand them as well.
I wish you all happy wondering 🙂
